Test on-line to find your private home’s latitude. That is the angle at which you’ll mount your photo voltaic panel.
Minimize six items of plywood for the field. The lid needs to be barely bigger than the photo voltaic panel. Trim the highest edges of the aspect, entrance, and again items to the suitable angle. Minimize the underside to suit.
Drill a gap in either side panel for airflow: one within the again panel for the controller and battery cords, and one within the lid for the photo voltaic panel’s twine. Then nail the picket slats to the lid and mount the photo voltaic panel to it. Assemble the field with a hinge for the lid.
Snip off the cigarette-lighter plug and solder the ¼-inch (6.35-mm) mono plug onto the Y adapter. Insert the mono plug into the controller’s 12-volt output.
Join all 4 energy leads from the battery and the photo voltaic panel to the controller’s enter terminals. Hook up the 15-amp DC panel meter to the controller’s enter terminal for the panel.
Check all connections with the meter. Join the pink wire with a female-terminal disconnect to the battery’s optimistic terminal, and join the black wire to the unfavourable terminal.
Place the station within the solar with the photo voltaic panel pointed south (north should you’re within the southern hemisphere). Plug one thing in!
